Mother Cabrini Feast Day Mass (1st Annual)

  • Epiphany of Our Lord Parish 1121 Jackson Street Philadelphia, PA, 19148 United States (map)

Join us Sunday, November 16, 2025 for our 1st Annual Mother Cabrini Feast Day Mass at Epiphany of Our Lord Church in South Philadelphia.

Mother Cabrini, the first United States citizen to be declared a saint, worked tirelessly on behalf of her fellow Italian immigrants, opening schools, hospitals, and orphanages across the United States. It was because of her life and legacy she has been recognized as patron saint of immigrants.

The mass will be presided over by our Worthy Chaplain, Fr. Casey. During the mass he will be blessing our procession banner of Fr. McGivney which will be hung in the lower shrine at the church.

Rosary: 4:30PM
Mass: 5:00PM

Parking available at the church.

In 2024 The Knights of Columbus San Salvador Council 283 raised money for the purchase of a statue of Mother Cabrini. Inspired by her story, we commissioned the creation of this statue to honor the immigrant heritage of the people of Philadelphia and to serve as a symbol of the contributions of Italian Americans in our community. Our council hopes this statue will continue to serve as a permanent unifying symbol for the people of South Philadelphia, and exist as a lasting memorial to those who sacrificed much so that we all could be here today.

Each year the statue makes appearances at a number of annual events. Beginning at the Procession of Saints in May at the Annual Italian Market Festival at St. Paul’s, it visits St. Augustine in Old City for Mother Cabrini National Migration Week Mass, is processed through the streets of South Philadelphia during the St. Nicholas of Tolentine Italian Festival Mass and the South Philadelphia Italian Heritage Parade, and will conclude at the Mother Cabrini Feast Day Mass at Epiphany of Our Lord.

The statue is permanently housed with a remembrance book at St. Mary Magdalen de Pazzi Church in the Italian Market, the first Italian National Parish in the United States. It made its debut the weekend of the 2024 South Philadelphia Italian-American Heritage Parade.

Unity is very important in our world which has become so divided. It is in times like this that we need symbols of hope and love for our fellow man. We find this love in the image of Christ. And we find it in the lives of the lives of the Saints who followed Him. Saints who gave us a template on how to follow in the footsteps of Christ. Saints like Francis Cabrini.

Like Mother Cabrini we as Knights of Columbus seek to live out our Catholic faith beyond mass on Sundays. In our parishes and in our communities. Through our daily lives and works. We encourage all to follow the example Mother Cabrini set for us and live out our faith through prayer and through action.
