“St. Paul Parish’s Homeless Ministry’s mission is to give comfort to our area’s homeless population by providing a variety of blessings: lunches and healthy snacks; toiletries and self-care items; gift cards; and seasonal items, such as outerwear and blankets. Perhaps most important, we provide personal interaction with people who are often overlooked. We make it a point to go out each season to provide these items.

Mercy Hospice has been a vital part of the social safety net in Philadelphia for over 35 years. They offer a range of residential services to assist homeless women in recovery, with the mission of alleviating the poverty and family instability caused by serious addictions, associated trauma and mental health issues. Mercy Hospice fulfills an essential ministry of the Catholic Church by reducing poverty, restoring and strengthening families, and promoting the integral health and well-being of those struggling to break the bonds of addiction.

We provide a safe space for people of diverse backgrounds to come together.

Our goal is to minister to families...to help mom and dad learn English and pursue the opportunity for naturalization. It is all about their family...English so that they can help their children in school, with medical issues etc. Many families struggle financially so if we can help during the winter to provide warm jackets for them, we and they are grateful.

History:

In 2002, we opened our doors in Kensington to serve and help meet the growing needs of the immigrant community. Rooted in the mission "to live and work so that all may be united with God and with one another", the Welcome Center continues to provide educational programs, support services and advocacy for our newest neighbors.
